What is Royal Canin Veterinary Health Nutrition Feline Urinary S/O?
Royal Canin Feline Urinary S/O helps struvite stones present in your cat’s bladder to dissolve. The effect it has of urine dilution makes the urine less able to form struvite and calcium oxalate stone and crucially has reduced magnesium levels to help lower the concentration of the ions which may contribute to struvite crystal formation. It is palatable and comes in the form of dry kibble food.
What are the benefits of using Royal Canin Feline Urinary S/O?
Spotting the symptoms of urinary problems in your cat is sometimes not straightforward, not helped by the fact they may not show any obvious pain or discomfort. There are some behaviours to look out for if there is a problem and you have concerns about your pet’s urinary health. For instance, they may have problems in urinating, have abnormal urine patterns, or their urine may become bloody or cloudy. Always make sure your pet always has plenty of fresh water available, even in more than one place in the house.
Anything which helps dilute your cat’s urine can have the effect of ensuring regular movement of the bladder which can help flush out their bladder, getting rid of any unpleasant bacteria or stones left behind. If you have serious concerns, it may be advised to consult your veterinary surgeon for a diagnosis.
The most common urinary disorders are oxalate and struvite stones which are prone to occur in female cats aged seven years and over. They can appear in male cats too.
Royal Canin Feline Urinary S/O helps to support urine dilution. In the diluted state, the urine in your cat is less likely to develop calcium oxalate or struvite stones. This low saturation works to help lower the concentration of ions that could make up crystal formation.
The diet food is not suitable if your cat has any of the following: chronic kidney disease, heart disease (when a restriction in sodium is called for), concurrent use of urine-acidifying medication, growth or gestation/lactation.
