What is Vectra® Felis 423mg/42.3mg Spot-On for Cats?

Vectra® Felis 423mg/42.3mg Spot-On for Cats is used for the treatment of flea infestations in cats.The spot on solution for use directly on the cat’s skin contains dinotefuran and pyriproxyfen. The 0.9ml measure is applied using the pipettes supplied. 

The flea treatment is for one month and it also prevents the fleas multiplying, controlling the flea emergence in the area around the cat for three months.

Fleas are a common problem in cats so it is a good idea to treat any other cats in the house too. Dogs in the household should be treated with suitable medicine designed for them. Check your pet cat’s bedding for signs of infestation and any spots where it likes to sit or lie, including furniture, carpet and rugs. Treat any infestations with an insecticide and make sure you vacuum the area thoroughly and frequently.

The spot-on treatment comes in a 0.9ml measure with pipettes supplied. 

Do not use in cats younger than 7 weeks or weighing less than 0.6 kg 

How does Vectra® Felis 423mg/42.3mg Spot-On for Cats work? 

The active ingredient dinotefuran is an insecticide and acts to kill the fleas within two hours after treatment. The other active ingredient is pyriproxyfen, a photostable insect growth regulator. It acts through contact and mimics the juvenile hormone which modulates the flea’s moulting from one life stage to the next one and leads to the production of infertile eggs.

The spot-on solution is for use on your cat’s skin only. Do not use it in any other way. Your vet will be able to advise you on the recommended dosage.
