What is Royal Canin Feline Urinary S/O Moderate Calories?

Royal Canin Feline Urinary S/O Moderate Calories helps struvite stones present in your cat’s bladder to dissolve. It is formulated to have a reduced calorie content to help your cat maintain an ideal body weight. It is also recommended for cats which have developed a tendency to put on weight in cases of struvite uroliths or calcium oxalate uroliths. It is palatable and comes in a tasty gravy and also as a dry food in kibbles.

What are the benefits of using Royal Canin Feline Urinary S/O Moderate Calories?

Urinary problems are sometimes difficult to diagnose in cats, as they may not immediately show any obvious symptoms. There are some pointers if there is a problem and you have concerns about their urinary health. For instance, they may have abnormal urine patterns, have problems in urinating or their urine may become bloody or cloudy.

If your pet is susceptible to calcium oxalate or struvite, this formula dissolves struvite stones present and will dilute your cat's urine to help prevent struvite and oxolate stones from recurring. The dilution of the urine can also have the effect of ensuring regular movement of the bladder which can help flush out your cat's bladder, getting rid of any unpleasant bacteria or stones left behind. If you have serious concerns, it may be advised to consult your veterinary surgeon for a diagnosis.

The most common urinary disorders are oxalate and struvite stones which are prone to occur in female cats aged seven years and over. They can appear in male cats too.

It is a good idea to help your cat with products to support urine dilution. In the diluted state, the urine in your cat is less likely to develop calcium oxalate or struvite stones. This low saturation works to help lower the concentration of ions that could make up crystal formation.

The diet food is not suitable if your cat has any of the following: chronic kidney disease, heart disease (when a restriction in sodium is called for), concurrent use of urine-acidifying medication, growth or gestation/lactation.
