How does Profender Cat Spot-On work?

The active ingredients in Profender Cat Spot-On are praziquantel and emodepside. The active ingredients work by paralysing and killing worms, which are then passed in your cat’s stool.

Instructions for Profender Cat Spot-On

When you receive the medication, it’s important to read and understand the dosage instructions. The strength and dose of the medication will depend on the size of your cat.

Always use medications as directed by your vet. Begin by parting your cat’s fur at the base of their skull until the skin is visible and then place the pipette against it. Squeeze until the entire contents of the pipette have emptied and then allow the solution to dry naturally.

It’s important to apply the medicine to the back of the neck, so that your cat is not able to lick it. If you have several cats, then ensure they don’t lick or groom each other until the solution has dried. 

The dose of the medicine depends on the size of your cat so it’s recommended to weigh them accurately. For cats that weigh between 0.5kg and 2.5kg, each treatment will require 1 pipette of the Profender Spot-On Small Cat. For cats that weigh between 2.5kg and 5kg, each treatment will require 1 pipette of the Profender Spot-On Medium Cat. For cats that weigh between 5kg and 8kg, each treatment will require 1 pipette of the Profender Spot-On Large Cat.

Most adult cats should be dewormed every 3 months (4 times a year) but you may wish to give more frequent treatment to cats in higher risk situations (like cats with flea problems or those who hunt mice regularly).
