How does Ypozane work?
The key active ingredient in Ypozane is osaterone acetate which inhibits the production of the testosterone hormone in male dogs. It works by blocking the male hormone from entering the prostate and then enlarging it.
When the prostate is enlarged it puts pressure on the surrounding organs such as the bladder and the bowel and can thus make going to the toilet more difficult and can also cause pain the abdomen.
A very common side effect is a temporary increase in appetite, so carefully monitor your dog whilst it is on this medication.
Other behavioural changes such as alterations in activity levels, or more sociable behaviour, are also common.
It is also important to wash your hands immediately after handling the medicine and if it is accidentally swallowed by a person, they must get immediate medical advice, it is also important to show your package leaflet or the label to the treating physician.
What are the benefits of Ypozane?
The effects of Ypozane can usually be seen after two weeks and the effects of the treatment may also last for up to five months as it has a long-lasting effect.
