What are Trocoxil Chewable Tablets for Dogs?

Trocoxil Chewable Tablets for Dogs is for the treatment of inflammation and pain linked to degenerative joint disease suffered in dogs aged a year and above, or more in examples where continuous treatment for more than one month is required. It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug or NSAIDS.

Please note this medicine is not for daily administration. The dosage is 2mg mavacoxib per kilogram of body weight given just before or given with the dog’s main meal of the day . Take care that the tablet is swallowed. The treatment can then be repeated 14 days later and after that, the interval is one month. Any cycle of treatment should not exceed seven consecutive doses (or 6½ months).

For dogs weighing between 5kg and 6kg, administer two 6mg tablets

For dogs weighing between 7kg and 10kg, administer two 20mg tablets

For dogs weighing between 11kg and 15kg, administer one 30mg tablets

For dogs weighing between 16kg and 20kg, administer two 20mg tablets

For dogs weighing between 21kg and 23kg, administer one 20mg tablet and one 30mg tablet

For dogs weighing between 24kg and 30kg, administer two 30mg tablets

For dogs weighing between 31kg and 37kg, administer one 75mg tablets

For dogs weighing between 38kg and 47kg, administer one 95mg tablets

For dogs weighing between 48kg and 52kg, administer one 30mg tablet and one 75mg tablet

For dogs weighing between 53kg and 62kg, administer one 30mg tablet and one 95mg tablet

For dogs weighing between 63kg and 75kg, administer two 75mg tablets

How do Trocoxil Chewable Tablets for Dogs work?

Mavacoxib is the active ingredient which is used to treat inflammation and pain in dogs suffering with a degenerative joint disease. The way it acts is as a COX-2 inhibitor, a  non-steroid anti-inflammatory drug that directly targets cyclooxygenase-2 or COX-2, a class of enzyme which is responsible for pain and inflammation.
