Strongid-P Paste 43.90% w/w is used for the control and treatment of parasitic worms in horses, ponies, donkeys and foals. The oral paste in a syringe contains pyrantel embonate. For dosage, check the Summary of Product Characteristics (SPC).

The product is for the treatment of large and small strongyles, Oxyuris Equi, Parascaris equorum and Anoplocephala perfoliata which can be present in the gut and gastrointestinal tract of grazing animals.

Worms are commonly present in horses of all ages, and often in the places where they live and graze too. Regular de-worming programmes have become part of the routine when caring for domestic horses.

How does Strongid-P Paste 43.90% w/w work?

The active ingredient is pyrantel embonate which belongs to a class of drugs known as anthelmintics. It works by rendering the worms immobile so the horse’s body can get rid of them naturally, all without significant damage to the host.
