Selehold Spot-On for Cats and Dogs is a medication that works to treat and prevent infestations of parasites such as fleas and ear mites and can also prevent heartworm disease
It is also suitable for the treatment of biting lice infestations, adult roundworms and adult intestinal hookworms in cats. In dogs, it can be used to treat biting lice infestations, sarcoptic mange and adult intestinal roundworms. It should be administered once a month.
There are six strengths. Choose the correct type according to your cat or dog’s weight:
Selehold 15 mg spot-on solution for cats and dogs weighing 2.5 kg or less
Selehold 45 mg spot-on solution for cats weighing between 2.6–7.5 kg.
Selehold 30 mg spot-on solution for dogs weighing between 2.6–5.0 kg.
Selehold 60 mg spot-on solution for dogs weighing between 5.1–10.0 kg.
Selehold 120 mg spot-on solution for dogs weighing between10.1–20.0 kg.
Selehold 240 mg spot-on solution for dogs weighing between 20.1–40.0 kg.
How does Selehold Spot-On for Cats and Dogs work?
The active ingredient in Selehold Spot-On for Cats and Dogs is selamectin, which attacks the nervous system of parasites to paralyse and kill them. It mimics an important amino acid and disrupts the parasite’s nerve cells. The solution is designed to be applied to the skin, rather than ingested by your animal, which means that it doesn’t require a flea to bite your pet for it to start working.
How to use Selehold Spot-On for Cats and Dogs
It is important that as soon as you receive and open the medication, you read and understand the instructions, especially on the recommended dose.
