Description

What is Royal Canin Veterinary Health Nutrition Canine Urinary S/O (Gravy Pouch)?

Royal Canin Canine Urinary S/O (Gravy Pouch) helps struvite stones in your dog’s bladder to dissolve. It has been specially made with the dietary needs of your dog in mind. This food has been developed with Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology to help cut down on the ion concentration in your pet’s urine. The high moisture content in the soft food containing meat and animal derivatives has the effect of increasing the urine dilution. It also comes in dry tasty kibbles and in a loaf.

What are the benefits of using Royal Canin Canine Urinary S/O (Gravy Pouch)?

Lifestyle and diet changes can be adopted to help dissolve any stones which form in your dog’s bladder or urinary tract.

Some of the urinary problems dealt with by vets involve the development of stones in the urinary tract or the bladder. The stones come from a slow build-up of minerals in your pet’s urine. If the concentration of these minerals are too great, your dog’s body struggles to discard them and so they start to crystallise.

Any urinary problem suffered by your dog can cause them discomfort and pain, so it is always useful to be able to spot the signs to ensure they don’t suffer unduly.

If your dog is suffering with stones, it might find it difficult to urinate or find it painful because the stone is causing a blockage to the urinary tract. They may lick the urinary area too. It is more common in male and/or older dogs.

A high moisture diet, such as that found in wet food, helps dilute the urine and also prevents a build-up of minerals. Specialised diets are useful to help change the pH level of your dog’s urine and prevent some types of stone forming.

You should always encourage your dog to drink plenty of water and let them outdoors to urinate frequently. If your pet is susceptible to calcium oxalate or uroliths, this Royal Canin formula dissolves the stones present and will dilute or thin your pet’s urine to help prevent them from recurring.
