What are Rilexine Palatable Tablets?

Rilexine Palatable Tablets is a bactericidal antibiotic for treating urinary tract infections in cats and dogs, and bacterial infections of the skin in dogs. The tablets are for oral use and contain cefalexin, or cephalexin.  

It is used to treat many common bacterial infections such as cystitis or nephritis. It can in addition be used to treat bacterial skin infections in dogs, such as skin fold pyoderma, folliculitis, impetigo, cellulitis and furunculosis. 

Cystitis affects a cat's bladder and urinary tract and can often be triggered by stress. 

Rilexine comes in four strengths, 75mg, 300mg and 600mg. 

How does Rilexine Palatable Tablets work? 

The active ingredient is Cefalexin, or Cephalexin, a bactericidal antibiotic for oral use. It acts by hindering the nucleopeptide synthesis of the bacterial wall and so destroying the bacteria.
