What is Protexin Gut Lix?
Gut Lix is a health lick with essential minerals and salt vital to a pony or horse’s diet. Preplex® prebiotics have been added to help support good gut health, encourage the good bacteria in the stomach and encourage salivation.
They are available as 2kg licks and will go into most lick holders. They are also suitable for putting into the horse’s feed bucket. Consult your veterinary surgeon for recommended dosages.
Minerals are substances vital to the body to help it function normally. Electrolytes are a class of mineral which your horse’s body needs in quite large quantities. For instance, sodium is easily lost in urine and sweat. Micro-minerals like cobalt and copper are only needed in small quantities but are very important for many systems in the body including the nervous system, the immune system and for the development of natural antioxidants.
The licks are suitable for all-year round use and are especially useful in the summer months to help your horse replace essential minerals lost in the heat.
The product uses pure Cheshire salt and comes in an apple flavour. No sugar or molasses are added so it does not cause problems with potential weight increases.
