What are Prac-Tic Spot on Solution for Dogs

Prac-Tic Spot on Solution for Dogs is suitable for the prevention and treatment of several flea and tick infestations in dogs. The active ingredient is pyriprole. It comes in pipettes for easy application directly on to your dog’s skin. 

The minimum dose recommended is 12.5mg pyriprole per kilogram of body weight, which is equivalent to 0.1 ml spot-on solution per kg of body weight. It comes in four strengths and six packs sizes.

For dogs weighing between 2kg and 4.5kg, use pipette size Very Small Dog containing 0.45ml 

For dogs weighing between 4.5kg and 11kg, use pipette size Small Dog containing 1.1ml 

For dogs weighing between 11kg and 22kg, use pipette size Medium Dog containing 2.2ml 

For dogs weighing between 22kg and 50kg, use pipette size Large Dog containing 5ml 

For dogs weighing more than 50kg, use the appropriate combinations of pipettes to make up the correct dose.  

All the medicine in the pipette should be used up and put directly on to the dog’s skin. Fleas should be killed within 24 hours after application and ticks after 48 hours. One application prevents flea and tick infestations for a minimum of four weeks. 

How do Prac-Tic Spot on Solution for Dogs work?

The active ingredient pyriprole interconnects with a receptor which transmits neural impulses. This in turn interferes with the flea or ticks’ nervous systems and ultimately leads to the death of the parasites.

It is important that as soon as you receive and open the medication, you read and understand the instructions, especially on the recommended dose.
