The active ingredient in Panacur Granules for Cats and Dogs is fenbendazole, which is a broad spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic. It works against a range of gastrointestinal parasites.
How do I use Panacur Wormer for Dogs and Cats?
When you receive the medication, it’s important to read and understand the dosage instructions. The strength and dose of the medication will depend on the size of your pet.
Always use medications as directed. For adult dogs and cats, the dosage guide is 1g sachet treats 2kg of body weight as a single dose, 1.8 g sachet treats 4kg of body weight as a single dose and 4.5g sachet treats 10kg of body weight as a single dose.
Puppies and kittens should be treated from 2 weeks old, and then a further 3 or 4 times until they’re 12 weeks old. If you’re treating a weaned puppy or kitten (under the age of six months), then the guide is slightly different; 1g sachet treats 4kg of body weight with daily dosing for three consecutive days, 1.8 g sachet treats 8kg of body weight with daily dosing for three consecutive days and 4.5g sachet treats 20kg of body weight with daily dosing for three consecutive days.
To ensure that puppies and kittens are not affected by worm infections in the period after birth, Panacur should be given to pregnant animals from day 40 of the pregnancy to 2 days after the birth.
