What are Milbactor® Film-Coated Worming Tablets for Dogs and Puppies?

Milbactor® Film-Coated Worming Tablets for Dogs and Puppies are wormers for treating a mix of infections of adult nematodes and cestodes. They can also be used to prevent heartworm disease. The version for small dogs or puppies with a dose of 2.5mg/25mg are for dogs weighing at least 0.5kg. Milbactor Tablets for Dogs with a dose of 12.5mg/125mg are for dogs weighing at least 5kg.

Depending on the dog or puppy’s weight, the dosing for Milbactor® Film-Coated Worming Tablets for small dogs and puppies (tablets 2.5mg/25mg) is:

For dogs and puppies weighing 0.5kg to 1kg, the dosage is half a tablet

For dogs and puppies weighing more than 1kg and up to 5kg the dosage is 1 tablet

For dogs and puppies weighing more than 5kg and up to 10kg the dosage is 2 tablets

The dosing for Milbactor® Film-Coated Worming Tablets for Dogs (tablets 12.5mg/125mg) is:

For dogs weighing between 5kg and 25kg the dose is 1 tablet 

For dogs weighing more than 25kg and up to 50kg the dose is 2 tablets

For dogs weighing more than 50kg and up to 75kg the dose is 3 tablets

How do Milbactor® Film-Coated Worming Tablets for Dogs and Puppies work? 

The active ingredients are milbemycin oxime and praziquantel. The anti-parasitic milbemycin oxime works against worms and mites. Praziquantel is an anti-worm medication which helps to prevent newly-hatched insect larvae or worms from enlarging or increasing in your dog or puppy’s body.

How to use Milbactor® Film-Coated Worming Tablets for Dogs and Puppies?

It is important that as soon as you receive and open the medication, you read and understand the instructions, especially with regard to the recommended dose. The tablets are for oral use only and can be given with or after food. It is important that the recommended dosage is the one as instructed by your vet.
