What is Metrobactin® Tablets for Dogs and Cats?

Metrobactin® Tablets for Dogs and Cats is a treatment for gastro-intestinal tract infections in dogs and cats. It is available in 250mg and 500mg-pack tablets. 

It can be used to treat giardiasis, an illness caused by the Giardia microscopic parasite that affects both dogs and cats. It causes diarrhea, gas, abdominal discomfort, gas, vomiting and  nausea. 

It can also treat clostridium in dogs and cats, a bacterial infection that also causes severe diarrhea. Your pet can become infected coming into contact with or ingesting infected feces. The clostridium can produce toxins that cause bacterial infections to occur within the intestinal tract of your pet.

Tablets can be divided into 2 or 4 equal parts to ensure accurate dosing. 

How does Metrobactin® Tablets for Dogs and Cats work? 

The active ingredient is Metronidazole, an antimicrobial which kills microorganisms or halts their growth. It works by penetrating the bacteria, leading to a reduction of its effect on the body.
