Isemid Chewable Tablets for Dogs are used for the treatment of congestive heart failure or pulmonary oedema in dogs. It is available in blister packs of 1mg, 2mg and 4mg tablets. 

Congenital heart defects are the most common cause of congestive heart failure in dogs, meaning it is a genetic condition and can't be prevented. Some small breeds have a genetic propensity toward congestive heart failure, including Pomeranians, toy poodles, dachshunds, and cavalier King Charles spaniels. 

It is a good idea to look out for symptoms of this condition where your dog’s heart has problems pumping blood around the body. It can progress slowly so being aware of the symptoms ensures you can get your dog the treatment it needs.  

Symptoms include your dog coughing more than is usual, especially during or after exercise, or they might find it difficult to breath or exercise, they may tire easily, have difficulty settling or an increased breathing rate.

The active ingredient of the flavoured chew is Torasemide, a diuretic that promotes renal excretion of sodium, chloride, and water. It can be administered with or without food.
