What is Isaderm?

Isaderm gel is used for the treatment of bacterial skin infections in dogs. It comes in 15g or 30g tubes.

The white translucent gel can treat skin conditions like dermatitis, or ‘hot spots’, or skin fold dermatitis also known as intertrigo. It is for topical use.

Bacterial skin infections in dogs occur for a number of reasons and can worsen as the dog takes to scratching its skin in the affected area. This can have the effect of exacerbating the discomfort. The infections sometimes happen when the skin's natural defenses break down, allowing a growth of bacteria to cover the skin.

How does Isaderm work?

One of the active ingredients is an antibiotic, Fusidic acid, which acts by prohibiting the protein synthesis of bacteria. The other is Betamethasone, a corticosteroid, which can help to reduce the itching, swelling and red skin that are common in these sorts of conditions.

The gel should be administered in a thin layer on the affected area. It may be necessary for your dog to wear an Elizabethan collar to stop it scratching.

Instructions for Isaderm

As soon as you receive and open the medication, it is vital that you read and understand the written instructions. This is especially important when checking the recommended dose.

The gel is solely for topical use on the dog’s skin only and should not be used in any other way or for any other reason. It is important that the recommended dosage is the one as directed by your vet.

How to order Isaderm

Isaderm is a prescription-only medication, which means you will first need a valid prescription from a vet before your order will be dispatched. You can still add the item to your basket, checkout and pay but we won’t be able to send the order out until we’ve received the prescription.

Start by getting a prescription from a vet and then place your order for the recommended medication. Our team will check the prescription against the item ordered to ensure its suitability. Once this has been approved, your order will be dispatched from our pharmacy to your chosen delivery method.

We offer a range of delivery methods with next day delivery available so you can have your order with you quickly and discreetly.
