Inflacam for Dogs (Oral 1.5mg/ml Suspension) is for alleviating pain and inflammation in acute and chronic musculo-skeletal disorders in dogs.
The oral solution is to be given to your dog mixed up with food or can be administered straight into the mouth. The treatment at first is one dose of 0.2 mg meloxicam per kg body weight on the first day. Treatment after that continues at 24-hour intervals once a day by oral administration at a maintenance dose of 0.1 mg meloxicam per kg body weight. A response is normally seen within three to four days.
The medicine comes in 15ml, 42ml and 100ml bottles with two measuring syringes, the first for small dogs weighing up to 20kg and the other for larger dogs up to 60kg.
How does Inflacam for Dogs work?
The active ingredient is meloxicam, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug or NSAID. It acts by inhibiting the prostaglandin synthesis. These prostaglandins are substances which trigger the inflammation, pain and fever so the meloxicam has the effect of reducing those responses.
