What is Inflacam for Horses?
Inflacam for Horses is for alleviating pain and inflammation both chronic and acute musculo-skeletal disorders in horses which weigh between 500 and 600 kg.
The granules are apple flavoured and each sachet contains one dose for a horse weighing between 500 and 600kg. The dose should not be divided into smaller doses. The granules should be administered mixed with food . It should be added to 250 g of muesli feed, prior to feeding.
The oral solution is to be administered either mixed with food or directly into the horse’s mouth. If added to food, put into a small quantity just before feeding. The suspension should be given using the measuring syringe which comes in the pack. The syringe is fixed on to the bottle and features a 2ml scale.
You should use this product as directed by your veterinary surgeon.
How does Inflacam for Horses work?
The active ingredient is meloxicam, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (equine NSAID). It acts by inhibiting the prostaglandin synthesis. These prostaglandins are substances which trigger the inflammation, pain and fever so the meloxicam has the effect of reducing those responses.
How to use Inflacam for Horses?
It is important that as soon as you receive and open the medication, you read and understand the instructions, especially on the recommended dose. The medicine is for oral use only.
