The active ingredients in Frontline PLUS Spot-on for Medium Dogs are Fipronil and (S)-methoprene. Fipronil is the active ingredient in other Frontline products, and it works to over-stimulate the nervous system of the parasite on contact. It works to kill 98-100% of adult fleas within the first 24 hours and keeps working for up to 8 weeks in dogs.
The addition of (S)-methoprene in Frontline PLUS helps the treatment to not only eliminate adult fleas, but also their eggs, larvae and pupae to prevent multiplication.
How do I use Frontline PLUS for Dogs (Spot-on for Medium-sized Dogs)?
When you receive the medication, it’s important to read and understand the dosage instructions. The strength and dose of the medication may depend on the size of your dog.
Always use medications as directed. The content of a full pipette needs to be applied directly to your dog’s skin, so begin by parting their hair. Apply the solution to your dog’s neck, just at the base of the skull.
If you have more than one pet, ensure that animals do not lick or groom each other until after the treatment has dried. Apply the solution every 6-8 weeks for ongoing flea and tick protection.
Important: Do not use on rabbits as this could cause severe side effects or even death.
