What is Frontline Flea Spray?

Frontline Spray for Dogs & Cats

Frontline Flea Spray is a 0.25% w/v Cutaneous Spray Solution. It is an effective treatment for canines and felines used to kill fleas and ticks and to eliminate infestations. Frontline Spray is a cutaneous spray solution designed for external spray application and it contains fipronil. The solution is active against Ixodes spp ticks which can lead to Lyme disease.

Providing quick relief from flea and tick infestations, the solution kills fleas within 24 hours and ticks within 48 hours and it also helps to reduce the risk of tick-borne diseases.

The solution is effective at killing lice and can be used on both cats and dogs.

Frontline Spray solution comes as either a pump action spray bottle or a trigger spray bottle (dependent on the bottle size).

How does Frontline Flea Spray work?

The active ingredient in Frontline 0.25% w/v Cutaneous Spray Solution is Fipronil, which works by over-stimulating the nervous system of the parasite on contact. It works to kill 98-100% of adult fleas within the first 24 hours.

How do I use Frontline Flea Spray?

When you receive the medication, it’s important to read and understand the dosage instructions. The strength and dose of the medication may depend on the size of your cat or dog.

Always use medications as directed. The spray should be used at a distance of approximately 10-20cm to spray the entire of your pet but take special care to avoid their eyes. All of the fur or hair should be dampened by the solution and ruffling the animal afterwards is recommended to ensure the solution works its way down to the skin.

When treating your pet’s head or when treating small animals, spray the solution onto gloved hands and then rub the product in, rather than spraying directly. Once the product has been applied, make sure to allow it to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area and don’t touch or handle your pet until it’s all dry.

If you have, or are treating, multiple animals then you may find it best to treat them outside. Make sure they don’t lick each other after treatment.

Important: Do not use Frontline flea spray on rabbits as this could cause severe side effects or even death.

You should use Frontline spray as directed by your veterinary surgeon.
