What is Flumax?

Flumax is a nutritional supplement for cats which supports respiratory tract health. Specifically formulated to maximise palatability, Flumax comes in the form of a paste and can either be directly administered, or added to a cat’s feed. Dosages vary based on the size of your cat, but general guidance is once a day for kittens and twice a day for adult cats.

Flumax comes in a plastic pump of 150ml, and contains a range of nutrients which may offer cats health benefits including supporting health and wellbeing in their respiratory tract. These include L-lysine, cranberry and pomegranate, pelargonium sidoides, zinc, and B vitamins.

What are the benefits of using Flumax?

While often taken for granted, respiratory health is integral to any animal’s wellbeing, and when compromised may lead to a reduction in quality of life. Flumax can play an important role in guarding your cat against ulcers and flu-like symptoms in their upper respiratory tracts, as well as decreasing infection shedding.

Flumax may be used to help manage existing respiratory tract infections, as well as a medium or long-term support against further infections from developing. It is very easy to administer (by pump), and is usually readily accepted by most cats who are likely to view it as a treat or foodstuff rather than a medication.

Flumax may also be used on an ongoing basis without causing any health risks to your cat.

How to use Flumax

To use Flumax, simply dispense from the pump that it comes in. This may either be directly so it is consumed on its own, or onto your cat’s normal feed. Usual daily doses are one 1.5ml pump a day for kittens, and two 1.5 pumps a day for adult cats.

Dosages may be adjusted for larger cats, but this should be undertaken after a consultation with your vet.
