What is Fiproclear Spot-on Solution for dogs?

Fiproclear Spot-on solution can be used in dogs for the treatment and also the prevention of flea and tick infestations. It contains the active ingredient Fipronil. 

When used for the treatment of flea infestations in dogs it will have an immediate effect and can then provide protection against fleas for up to eight weeks. 

It also has a proven effect against ticks. It will have an active effect in killing tick between 2-7 days. In Ixodes ricinus, it continues to kill live ticks for up to two weeks, for up to three weeks against Rhipicephalus sanguineus and four weeks for Dermacentor reticulatus. 

This product can also be used to treat Flea Allergy Dermatitis, if your dog has a previous diagnosis for this condition from a Veterinary Surgeon.

It should not be used in puppies weighing less than 2kg or which are under eight weeks of age.

The minimum recommended dose is 6.7 mg of fipronil per kg of weight.

How does Fiproclear Spot-on Solution for dogs work? 

Fiproclear works by binding to chloride ions and acting upon the central nervous system of the fleas and ticks, killing these organisms. It cannot prevent ticks from attaching to your dog, but if used as a preventative measure will kill the tick within 48 hours. 

How to use Fiproclear Spot-on Solution for dogs

Take the pipette and tap it to ensure that the contents have dropped down into the main body of the pipette. Snap-off the top of the pipette and then holding your dog apply the product by parting your dog’s coat between its shoulder blades, so that you can see its skin. Squeeze the contents of the pipette onto the skin.
