What is Enisyl-F?
Enisyl-F is an oral paste used to help in the management of Feline Herpes Virus (FHV-1) in cats. Enisyl-F comes in a special pump dispenser which makes it easy to control doses and administer orally. One pump per day is a usual recommended dose.
Enisyl-F’s active ingredient is L-lysine, which competes against arginine (an amino acid the Herpes Virus requires to fully develop), thus supporting cats’ natural defences against Feline Herpes Virus (FHV-1).
What are the benefits of using Enisyl-F?
While there is no cure for Feline Herpes Virus (FHV-1) in cats, this condition can still be managed, and Enisyl-F plays an important role in this. L-Lysine reduces viral shedding as well as the signs of infection. In the aftermath of a primary infection, Enisyl-F can decrease the regularity and severity of subsequent flare-ups.
As Feline Herpes Virus can be fatal in as many as 30% of cases in kittens, it is important that the condition is controlled in the 80% of cats who carry it after a primary infection.
Secondary benefits of Enisyl-F are supporting a healthy coat and skin. Its tuna flavour also makes it very palatable for cats, so is usually an easy medication to administer.
How to use Enisyl-F
To use Enisyl-F, simply administer the correct number of pumps, either directly onto your cat’s food or somewhere it will readily lick, i.e. a paw. Adult cats should be given 1-2ml of Enisyl-F per day, while kittens should be given 1ml per day. Each pump of Enisyl-F corresponds to roughly 1ml.
This product can be used for as long as necessary, has no known side effects, and can be used alongside other treatments and therapies without issue.
