What is Advocate for Dogs?

Advocate Flea Treatment for Dogs

Advocate for Dogs is an effective treatment for a number of parasitic infestations including fleas, roundworm, hookworm, lungworm, heartworm and ear mites. The solution you require will depend on the size of your dog, with different options for small, medium, large and extra large dogs.

Advocate flea treatment for dogs is supplied in pre-filled pipettes (packs of 3 or 6) which have been developed specifically for dogs. If you are looking to treat a parasitic infestation in a cat then be sure to request Advocate for Cats instead.

Each pipette contains enough solution for one treatment and the dose and frequency of application depends on why the medicine is being used. Further details are available in the enclosed leaflet.

How does Advocate for Dogs work?

Advocate Dog Wormer

The active ingredients in Advocate for Dogs is Imidacloprid and Moxidectin. Both of these substances work by paralysing and subsequently killing parasites, with each ingredient targeting different ones. This works by interfering with the nervous system of the parasite and the way in which signals are passed between nerve cells.

Paralysing the parasites can help to prevent or reduce parasitic bites, which can be uncomfortable for your dog as well as carrying a risk of parasite-transmitted diseases.
